Taking care of “Trees” in Tehran.
I took this photo very suddenly and if feels like “wow, wish all alleys were like this in Tehran” it shows life. A tree can give a quarter meaning, it can be the cause of collective memories. It can change the air of the society. I missed the old days of streets and quarters in Tehran. I though maybe conserving these trees would help to rebuilt the open areas in it’s true meaning. I invite all citizens to take pictures of these remained green areas to show others or organizations to take care of them and approach another strategies to develop the city. Today, we all know that conserving green areas will help the urban life to transfer to sustainability. I think this alley has the potential to be sustainable through it’s one only tree!

عبید زاکانی
خواب دیدم قیامت شده است. هرقومی را داخل چالهای عظیم انداخته و بر سرهر چاله نگهبانانی گرز به دست گمارده بودند الا چاله ی ایرانیان. خود را به عبید زاکانی رساندم و پرسیدم: «عبید این چه حکایت است که بر ما اعتماد کرده نگهبان نگماردهاند؟»گفت:….
می‌دانند که به خود چنان مشغول شویم که ندانیم در چاهیم یا چاله.»خواستم بپرسم: «اگر باشد در میان ما کسی که بداند و عزم بالا رفتن کند…» نپرسیده گفت: گر کسی از ما، فیلش یاد هندوستان کند خود بهتر از هر نگهبانی پایش کشیم و به تهِ چاله باز گردانیم!
داستان ۳ ونک
این یک داستان کوتاه از بورخس است:
به ساعت کوچک ایستگاه که نگاه کردم، یکى دو دقیقه از یازده شب گذشته بود. پیاده به طرف هتل راه افتادم. حس آسودگى و بى قیدى‌ایى که
جاهای آشنا به جان آدم مى ریزد، مثل دفعات قبل به جانم ریخت. در بزرگ آهنى باز بود. عمارت توى تاریکى فرو رفته بود. وارد سرسرا شدم که آینه‌هاى دودی‌اش تصویر گلدان‌ها را در خود منعکس مى کرد. عجیب آنکه مهمانخانه‌چى مرا به جا نیاورد و دفتر ثبت نام را مقابلم گذاشت. قلم را که با زنجیر نازکى به پیشخان بسته بودند برداشتم.
آن را در مرکب‌دان برنجى فرو کردم و روى دفتر ثبت نام خم شدم که ناگهان یکى از آن عجایبى را که قرار بود آن شب با آن ها روبه رو شوم دیدم.
اسم من خورخه لوئیس، روى صفحه ثبت نام مسافران نوشته شده بود و جوهر آن هم هنوز کاملا خشک نشده بود. مهمانخانه‌چى گفت: «گمان مى‌کردم جنابعالى تازه به طبقه بالا تشریف برده‌اید.» بعد هم با دقت بیشترى مرا نگاه کرد و گفت: «معذرت مى خواهم قربان. آن یکى خیلى شبیه شما بود. شما البته جوانتر از ایشان هستید.»
یرسیدم: «توى کدام اتاق است؟»
جواب داد: «از من اتاق شماره نوزده را خواست.»
ترس من هم از همین بود.

The vision of a couple of committed individuals germinated in the slums of Kolkata in 1996 and led to the creation of Prayasam, an organisation which today reaches out to a million children. With a dozen years of experience working with children from both mainstream and marginalized communities, Prayasam has established itself as a regional expert in child rights, particularly the right to participation.
Our work stems from the conviction that children possess the potential to transform their local communities by assuming the role of change agents. Through interactive workshops and trainings we are mobilizing group formation with children in diverse, neglected pockets of West Bengal, ranging from slums in the heart of Kolkata to peripheral brick kilns in the city’s outskirts.
Prayasam’s innovative work in child participation won its founder, Amlan Kusum Ganguly, the prestigious Ashoka Fellowship in 2006. More recently, Amlan was invited to present his concept at the Global Summit on Urban Population Health by the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy for his innovative solutions to urban health problems in slum areas. This past year, Amlan was selected as a public health leader to be profiled in Revolutionary Optimists, a documentary film project headed by Stanford University.

Laguna del Toro is a community situated in a Protected Natural Area in Xochimilco, Mexico City, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1987. This community has a high level of poverty and is made up of about 80 families. A few years ago, these families began to become aware of the environmental impact caused by their presence and they decided to take measures in order to become a sustainable community and, as a consequence, to get better development opportunities. TECHO-México decided to help the community along the way of sustainability. For this purpose, volunteers of TECHO have been providing them with community development tools such as concrete projects of education, infrastructure, environment and social cohesion.
